Wachhaus

The Wachhaus guard house appears in one local map as early as 1841. It was located above the Botič stream valley and was used by the Association of local millers to regulate the amount of water flowing toward the 14 mills built downstream between Průhonice and the Vltava river in Prague. It is said that originally, there were two mills in the Průhonice Park itself, not far from the Castle: the Labeška mill (on the Podkarasák pond) and the Podzámecký mill. The guard house has recently been renovated, one part of it is accessible to the public and a newly created opening offers a view on the Bořín pond.
