Průhonice Park in the Passage of Time
We would like to invite you to the international conference Průhonice Park in the Passage of Time organised on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the founding of the Průhonice Park and the 15th anniversary of its inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The role of the Park will be interpreted in the context of the history of garden art and of world cultural heritage sites. Attention will be focused on examples of garden architecture which served as inspiration for the foundation of the Průhonice Park. Also mentioned will be the development after 1990, namely the efforst to safeguard the Park´s value using national and European grants.
The conference is held under the auspices of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Culture and the Central Bohemia Region.
It is supported by the Ministry of Culture from the subsidy programme for the support of World Heritage Sites and co-financed by the budget of the Botanical Institute of the CAS. It is organized in cooperation with the National Museum of Agriculture, which provides its professional aspect.
The conference will feature leading experts including landscape architects, heritage conservation professionals, and specialists from related fields, with international representation of authorities in the field of World Heritage.
Organizational Information for Participants and Speakers
Transportation and Parking:
Participants can park free of charge at the Main Entrance near the castle.
If you’re traveling by public transport, we recommend taking bus no. 363, 357, or 385 from Opatov metro station (line C) in Prague to the Průhonice stop.
Venue:
The conference, including the social evening, will take place in the prestigious Knights’ Hall of Průhonice Castle.
Registration will be held in front of the Knights’ Hall.
Lunch:
Lunch for participants will be provided at the Floret Hotel Restaurant.
Social Evening:
The evening program will follow the lecture sessions and will also take place in the Knights’ Hall. The entire day will be held in an informal spirit, so we recommend casual dress code.
Excursion – Day 2 of the Conference:
The excursion will begin at 10:00 AM, with the meeting point at the Great Courtyard .

Registration is possible before 10. 5. 2025, after that date, registration will not be possible
