Operating Rules of the Conference Centre

The Conference Centre of Průhonice Park and Castle, operated by the Institute of Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences (hereinafter also referred to as the “IB”) comprises the Knights’ Hall, the Blue, Yellow and Mirror Lounges, the adjoining corridor on the first floor of the castle, and the catering preparation area. In addition to the Conference Centre premises, the Count A. E. Silva-Tarouca Study and the Inner and Greate Courtyards are also available for hire (as specified in individual orders).

The Conference Centre is accessible only to participants of events organised by the tenant on the basis of a signed order / rental agreement and is not open to regular visitors of the park.

Rules of Conduct and Operation:

• The client is obliged to ensure that event participants comply with the Rules for Visitors of Průhonice Park and observe fire safety regulations, in particular the prohibition of smoking and handling open flames, including recreational pyrotechnics, throughout the entire area.

• The use of drones within the entire Průhonice Park and Castle area is not permitted.

• Leaning on or climbing onto the balustrade in the Inner Courtyard is prohibited.

• Dogs are allowed in the Průhonice Park area only when kept on a leash.

• Throwing rice, flower petals or other decorations is prohibited in the Inner and Greate Courtyards and inside the castle. The use of artificial decorative materials is strictly prohibited throughout the entire area and may be subject to a fine of CZK 10,000.

• A piano is located in the Knights’ Hall; unless expressly included in the order as part of the rental, it must not be touched or moved in any way.

Rental Information:

• Guests are advised to arrive in Průhonice with sufficient time reserve. The capacity of the parking lot in front of the castle is limited and parking may not always be available. The parking area operates a 15-minute free exit period. Other parking options in Průhonice include the Floret Hotel, the Azalka shopping centre parking lot, and paid parking at the main square.

• Parking fees are not included in the agreed services and must be paid individually at the parking meter.

• Entry of private vehicles into the Průhonice Park and Castle area is not permitted. By prior arrangement, exceptional entry may be allowed for the drop-off and pick-up of persons with reduced mobility, however, parking within the premises is not allowed.

• The client is advised to inform their suppliers about the duration of the rental and the restriction on vehicle entry into the park area. For loading and unloading, it is necessary to request entry permission no later than 3 working days in advance. Entry is only possible upon written approval from the coordinator (e.g. by email).

• Participants will be granted group entry to the Park 15 minutes prior to the start of the event, unless agreed otherwise. In the case of a higher number of guests (over 50 persons), the provider reserves the right to increase the rental price by an amount corresponding to the park entrance fee.

• The client acknowledges that they are responsible for organising the event independently. The client is fully responsible for the course of the event and is required to provide the coordinator with key information in writing (e.g. by email), in particular the start time of preparations and of the event itself, the current number of participants, and any specific requirements (e.g. attendance of persons with reduced mobility, musicians, etc.).

• The rental price of the Knights’ Hall and lounges (including wedding ceremonies) includes audiovisual equipment (except for a mobile screen) and basic furniture.

• The IB reserves the right to relocate events from the viewing terrace of the Inner Courtyard to the Knights’ Hall in the event of adverse weather conditions or a warning issued by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) indicating conditions that could endanger the health of participants or the property of the IB.

Information for Wedding Ceremonies:

• After entering through the gate, proceed to the castle where you will meet your officiant. You will hand over the documents of the couple and witnesses, and optionally the rings. Provide the ceremony music to the Conference Centre coordinator (preferably on a USB drive, in mp3 format only, without folders).

• Wedding ceremonies take place on the viewing terrace of the Inner Courtyard. Please note that a café located in the courtyard remains open during ceremonies, and park visitors may move around the paved area. The ceremony space is separated from the rest of the courtyard by a barrier preventing access by unauthorised persons.

• Once the previous ceremony has ended and participants have left the courtyard, you will be invited to line up for the wedding procession.

• After the ceremony and the end of the rental period, you will be asked to vacate the Inner Courtyard to allow preparation for the next ceremony.

• Both religious and symbolic ceremonies are organised by the client in cooperation with the officiant (procession order, speech, etc.); relevant information must be communicated to the Conference Centre coordinator.

• Wedding photography in Průhonice Park on the day of the ceremony is free of charge (during opening hours). If scheduled for another time, it must be arranged in writing with the coordinator no later than the day before. If not announced in advance, both entry and photography may be subject to charges according to the current price list.

• The standard setup of the wedding venue – the viewing terrace of the Inner Courtyard – includes: carpet, 6 white wooden benches, a table for the officiant, sound system, and floral decorations. In the case of a ceremony held in the Knight’s Hall, the benches are replaced with an appropriate number of chairs according to the number of guests.

This Operating Policy is valid as of 1 April 2026.
