Průhonice Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden was established in 1962. Its collections of irises, peonies, daylilies, and snowdrops are part of the Czech National collection, select varieties are part of the National programme for genetic sources. The iris collection is one of the three largest collections in the world, the collection of cultural roses is the second most numerous collection in the Czech Republic. The Garden also showcases plantings of rhododendrons, nemophila and small bulbous plants. It participates in the protection of endangered species and includes an arboretum with historical varieties of apple and pear trees. The Garden is open to the public from April through October.
