Fisherman´s Cottage

The so-called Fisherman´s Cottage is located right next to the Hatchery pond. It was built by the founder of the Park, Count Silva-Tarouca at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It was used for fish tank maintenance and to store feed and fisherman´s equipment. After the Count´s departure, the Cottage served for storage and as a facility for the pond management. During the 2022 reconstruction, the entire building had to be torn down because it was in very bad shape. In its place a replica of the original structure was built. As of 2024, the Fisherman´s Cottage will be open for the public. The exposition introduces the Park´s aquatic environment, its ecosystems and landscape features which make the Průhonice Park a unique place listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
