Institute of Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences cooperates with Ukrainian scientists in research areas in western Ukraine and the White Carpathians. We express our solidarity not only to our colleagues from the universities of Chernivtsi and Lviv, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the administration of the Halych National Nature Park, but to all the people of Ukraine.
In December, construction and arboricultural work began in various parts of the park as part of the Průhonice Park restoration project. Please keep an eye on our project page where you can find up-to-date information on the ongoing works.
The magnolias are in full bloom and this means that the main visitor season in Průhonice Park has begun. Thousands of rhododendrons are yet to flood the park with their colors, but visitors can already enjoy the spring flowers of Alpina and the first results of the park’s restoration work. In connection with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute of Botany, which manages the Průhonický Park, the public will also enjoy an extended program of events this year.
This season, visitors can enjoy their walks even more with a new guide to the deciduous trees in the park and the SMS information service.
For more information about our events see CALENDAR.
