Come and spend beautiful summer days in Průhonice Park! During July and August, you can visit the exhibition by Ateliér Studánka in the Natura Gallery. Throughout the summer, you can also explore permanent exhibitions on the ground floor of the chateau, visit Fisherman´s Cottage full of interesting facts for both children and adults, or discover the Czech Cottage with an exhibition about fairy tales and films made in the park. You can also enjoy your walk with the help of the SmartGuide mobile app, which offers an audio guide in English. We look forward to seeing you in the park this summer!

Closure of the Botanic Garden turnstile from 1 July 2025

Dear visitors, we would like to inform you that from 1 July 2025 the Botanical Garden turnstile will be closed due to ongoing construction works. The closure will last until further notice. The nearest possible entrance for visitors with a annual passes is the Chotobuz entrance. Access to the garden via the park remains open to all visitors without change.

Due to ongoing construction activities, we ask that you exercise extra caution in the garden area. Thank you for your understanding.

 

Wine Trail in Průhonice Park

The third year of the Wine Trail in Průhonice Park is here! Come and enjoy the unique combination of top wines and Průhonický Park. What awaits you? 15 wineries from Velké Bílovice, 90 carefully selected wine samples, 6 km of relaxing route, tasting glass and wine catalogue. Entrance to the Průhonice Park is included in the ticket price. ATTENTION! The number of tickets is limited! Don’t miss this special event and reserve your place early! Open Gardens Weekend

We cordially invite you to the Open Gardens Weekend, which will take place in Průhonice Park on Sunday 8 June. You can visit the normally inaccessible areas of the chateau (cellars, the Knights’ Hall, the Count’s study, the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary) and take a guided tour of our Alpine. Admission. We look forward to your visit and spending time together!

Tours of the chateau will run from 11am to 2pm – you can come anytime during this time.
The church tour will be from 12pm to 2pm – you can come anytime during this time.
The guided tour of Alpina starts at 2 pm. Meet in the Inner Courtyard on the  Terrace.

Come and enjoy the beauty of the flowering garden and learn more about its collections.
Herbaceous Peonies – Saturday, June 7, 2025, meet at 2 p.m. at the turnstile to the Botanical Garden from Dobrejovicka Street.
Historic Roses – Saturday, June 14, 2025, meet at 2 p.m. at the entrance to the Botanical Garden from the park.

Celebrate 140 years of Průhonice Park with us! May events.

Join us on May 24 to celebrate the park’s 140th anniversary!
You can look forward to an accompanying programme – a lecture on the history of the park, children’s theatre, guided tours of the park and the castle or a concert of horns. The celebrations will also include a guided tour of the iris collections in the Průhonice Botanical Garden, but you can also come on your own. Don’t forget the wood peony tour, which will take place in the Průhonice Botanical Garden on 10 May. For more information about the May events, see our calendar.

News about rhododendron flowering

Dear visitors, the rhododendrons are now in full bloom. For your walk, we recommend the yellow and blue trails, which will lead you through the areas with the richest flowering. Don’t forget to take a stroll around the Main Viewpoint – you’ll find beautiful blooms there and a pleasant atmosphere for a relaxing walk.

International Conference on the 140th Anniversary of the Founding of Průhonice Park

Join us on May 21st and 22nd, 2025, for the international conference Průhonice Park in the Passage of Time, organized to mark the 140th anniversary of the founding of the Průhonice Park and the 15th anniversary of its inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Spring in Průhonice Park is here – the rhododendrons are beginning to bloom! We are open on May 1st and May 8th!

With the arrival of warmer weather, the park is slowly waking up. If you want to experience spring at its most colourful, now is the time! And if you’d rather wait for all your favourite flowers to bloom – perhaps at Alpine or in our Botanic Gardens – or if you’re wondering when the rhododendrons will bloom, email us at park@ibot.cas.cz.

April events

The main season has begun, and the park is gradually filling with blossoms and visitors. Thousands of spring bulbs are starting to bloom all across the grounds. As part of the seasonal opening, our Průhonice Botanical Garden opened its gates on April 1st. You can look forward to guided tours through our collections, this time focusing on small spring bulbs and hellebores, as well as the Spring Run through Průhonice Park – now in its 13th edition! In the Natura Gallery, you’re invited to visit Martina Hladíková’s solo exhibition “Encounters”, on display throughout April and May. And of course, our permanent exhibitions are also open – in the castle’s ground floor, the Fisherman’s House, and the Czech Cottage. We look forward to seeing you! Come and experience spring with us!

The magic of winter arrangements with Christmas tree wishes

From 7 December to 6 January, the Natura Gallery in the Small Courtyard of the Chateau in Prague will be transformed into a place where visitors will be reminded that Christmas is a magical holiday closely linked to nature. There will be a Christmas tree in the gallery, on which visitors can hang their cards, which they make on the spot, or handmade decorations from the sheltered workshops, which are available at the ticket office at the Main Entrance. There will also be displays of regional varieties of apples, pears and quinces, complete with Christmas-themed items and New Year’s ikebana from the Prague Sogetsu Study Group, reminding the public that not every country celebrates winter holidays in the same way as we do. Come and remember the magic of Christmas!

Christmas Concert – J. J. Ryba, Czech Christmas Mass

We would like to invite you to the traditional Czech Christmas Mass  by Jakub Jan Ryba, which will take place on December 20 at 7:00 pm in the Knights’ Hall. Join us for a unique musical experience that carries the beauty of Czech traditions and the joyful message of Christmas. Celebrate this festive season with music that is inseparable from Czech Christmas. Admission 280 CZK on sale from 2 December at the ticket office at the main entrance.

 

Sale of ornamental pumpkins!

Dear visitors, you can buy ornamental pumpkins at the ticket office at the main entrance to the castle. A small pumpkin costs 40 CZK, a large pumpkin 50 CZK. The sale is ongoing while stocks last.

Inspired by plants

Come to the Natura Gallery in Průhonice Castle for an exhibition of linocuts, drawings, watercolours and ceramics – you will see plants as you have never seen them before. Authors Jitka Klimešová and F. Curtis Lubbe, who are researching the underground organs of plants at the Botanical Institute, are inspired by plants in their artwork and hope to inspire others with their enthusiasm. Admission is included with park admission.
