Not far from the confluence of the Zdiměřice (Jesenice) and Botič streams a huge solitary example of the shellbark hickory (Carya laciniosa) grows. The majestic tree is similar to the walnut, its fruits are globose pseudodrupes whose pericarp breaks into four flaps, with nuts inside. The autumn foliage is bright yellow. The shellbark hickory originated in the eastern part of North America and Mexico. Their wood is valuable, and some species have edible fruits (Carya illinoensis – pecans).
