Rohani European Beech

On the right side of the meadows, right by the path a purple beech tree (Fagus sylvatica ‘Rohanii’) is located. The “Rohanii” cultivar has been cultivated in 19th century Bohemia by the gardener of Sychrov Castle, Mašek, and is named in honour of the Sychrov lord, Count Camilio Rohan. The leaves are a typical red and they have irregular lobes. The trees can reach 20-25 metres in height. The individual in the Park is amongst the largest and the oldest in the Czech Republic.
